Music was a part of my fabric from
a very early age. Being the youngest of six, brought a wealth of music to my
ear's. My brother's and sister's had me begging, to hear song's I liked, over
and over. Song's like Wipeout, (the laugh at the begining-then those cool
drum's). Or, Roll over Beethoven by ELO, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet, Pinball
Wizard (the Elton version from the movie "Tommy"), to name a few. Then IT
happened. KISS ALIVE. From that moment on, the guitar was embedded in me never
to leave. After playing clarinet in 5th grade band, my parent's (who loved big
band, classical, Les Paul & Mary Ford, etc.. music I now LOVE), got me my first
electric guitar for Christmas. A Speigel Catalog special. Being self taught on
the guitar, nothing was more satisfying, (and still is), than learning a
favorite tune, correctly.
During high school, my friend Jeff Wegmann and I
jammed regularly, ultimately forming the three piece band Vector Frost. During
this time, I started to develop a home studio, recording originals, and
recording others. 1995 was the year I met my wife Kelly. I joined her brother
John Mckaig(drums/vocals), Dave Leeds(bass/vocals) and Kelly(vocals) in a band
that played many many party's. In Oct 2001, I joined the country band Stoney
Creek. My first time playing with them, With NO PRACTICE, was at the Urban
Cowboy Saloon in Wayne. I remember Chris Adis thought I was NUTS for doing this
gig without any rehearsal. The talented lead singer, Rich Ashley, saw me at
Guitar Center and invited me to join, (he had heard me fiddling around with a
bass at a mutual friends house one day). We were the House band there. I was
Happy playing with Stoney Creek, but the gig's interfered with my New Job,
(working with Chris at Coram Healthcare).
During
the summer of 2005, Chris invited me to jam with the guy's in New Fossils,
saying, "the singer sings the high stuff"- (like that was a bad thing, me and
Mark still get a chuckle at this). When we launched into the Floyd song's, I new
this was a band I wanted to be in.
